From September

This September we’re making a few changes to the way that we run our Sundays. From Sunday 10th September we’re going to be moving to the new times of 9:15am, 11:15am and 7pm on Sundays. To hear more about that move and the reasons behind it, watch the video below.

Common Questions

To help you get ready for September, we’ve collated a selection of common questions which we’ve listed below.

Which services will run provision for youth?

We will be running our youth group at the 11:15am service for youth of all ages (school years 7 through to 13). These sessions will include their own teaching and time to socialise with one another.

What time will the services finish?

Our services last for 1h15m. The 9:15am will finish at 10:30am; the 11:15am will finish at 12:30; the 7pm service will finish at 8:30pm (the evening is slightly longer because there’s a break in the middle). Doors will open at 8:45am on Sunday mornings and 6:30pm for our evening service.

What about parking?

On Sunday mornings we’ll still have use of the Bluecoat College car park on Castle Road (the road just opposite our church building) and the Irish Centre car park accessed from Wilford Street. Both of these car parks will open at 8:45am and shut at 1pm. Bear in mind that this parking will now be used for two services and is shared with St. Nics Church, so please don’t leave your car there after you’ve been to church. Also, access to the Irish Centre is very narrow so it might be a bit tricky to navigate in between the services, so please allow plenty of time to get in and find a space. In the evening we now have use of the Irish Centre car park.

Will there be kids’ groups at both morning services?

Yes! We’ll be running kids’ groups for all ages at both our 9:15am and 11:15am services. You can find details about each group and the ages they apply to over on our Kids page.

What time will serving teams arrive?

This will vary for different teams. If you’re already part of a team, you should hear from your ministry leader ahead of September so that you know what to expect, but no teams will arrive any earlier than 8am for the morning services. In the evening teams will arrive at various times after 5:30pm.

Will there be breakfast before the 9:15am service?

Yes! We’ll run a free, light breakfast every Sunday from 8:45am. We’re yet to confirm what this will include but it’s likely to be things like fruit and pastries.

How will teams change over between morning services?

The transition from the 9:15am service to the 11:15am service will differ depending on which team you’re involved in. There might be some instances where teams stay on to do the second service, but others will switch over. Your ministry leader will be in touch nearer the time to explain how this will work. We will also no doubt learn things as we go, so please feel free to send in any feedback once we’re up and running to help make things run smoothly.
