Prayer & Worship Night
Prayer and worship have been at the heart of our journey as a church over many years and we especially want to push into these areas anew this year.

So, once a month we will gather to pursue God's presence together as a church, worship Him and bring our community, our city and our nation before Him. It has been from some of our gathered times that we've heard God speak most clearly about our future as a church.

We'd love for you to be part of this too, so why not come along, 7.30pm on Monday 28th April. __

Accessibility This meeting will be hosted in our Main Hall so is easily accessed through our main Sunday doors, with no steps into the building. There will be mostly standing space but some seating for those who would find this helpful.
Disabled Parking is available down the side of our building. A hearing aid loop is available for those who use it.

The Bereavement Journey
The Bereavement Journey is a 7 week programme designed to help anyone explore and process the loss of someone important to them. Grief is often accompanied by deep sorrow and pain. The separation from someone close to us causes emotional, psychological and physical reactions which can feel overwhelming. Loss needs to be processed for our physical and mental health and wellbeing. Unresolved grief can also affect our attitudes, relationships and attainment

The Bereavement Journey has been designed to validate every person's experience and support them as they learn to live life without the person they love, through a series of films and discussion groups that gently guide people bereaved at any time through the most common aspects of grief and bereavement, enabling them to process the implications for themselves and discern next steps. Topics include: "Attachment, separation and loss", "The impact and pain of bereavement", "Anger and guilt", "Coping with others' reactions", "Adjusting to change", "Delayed and suppressed grief", and "Moving forward healthily".

The course provides a great place for talking to others who have been bereaved, or just hear how others are experiencing and dealing with similar issues. Grief is more easily managed when journeying with others and past losses can be opened up safely.

Some more general information can be found online at https://www.thebereavementjourney.org/ and questions about our course at Grace Church can be sent to bereavement@gracechurchnottingham.org

So that we can cater well for those wishing to attend the course, it is essential that you sign up in advance - signups will open soon so be sure to check back later. There is a £10 charge to cover the cost of materials. However, if this would cause you difficulties in any way, please contact us. Doors will open at 7.15pm for a prompt 7.30pm start each week.

Mental Health Support Group
This is an informal group that aims to provide a safe place for people who are, or have been, struggling with any mental health issues, or support those who do. It is a place to get to know each other and build community together, encouraging one another whilst on the road to recovery. The group meets twice a month at 10:30am, either in the church building or, more infrequently, for coffee in someone's home. We also have more spontaneous opportunities to meet in town for coffee, for anyone who just wants to touch base and catch-up. If you'd like to know upcoming dates and locations, just get in touch. __

Young Adults Teaching
These termly events are a chance for us to gather as a community of young adults, to enjoy teaching and input on topics which are live and relevant to us.

Our next YA Teaching session is coming up, on the topic of 'Thriving Community'. We'll be talking about all things community - from friendship and conversation, to hospitality and invitation. We'll be mixing super practical, down-to-earth advice, with the vision we see for community laid out in the Bible.

Do you have have questions about how to build lasting relationships? How to prevent loneliness? How to host people in your home? How to live with others well? The evening will be shaped by your questions - submit any question you have about community ahead of time, and we'll aim to answer them during the evening.

See you there!

Equip Conference
This May we're excited to be running our very first Equip Conference. This will be a day conference designed for everyone and exists to help us all go deeper in our love for Jesus, His church and to equip us in the mission we're all called to as we follow Him. The day will include extended times of worship, main session teaching, inspiring stories and opportunities to connect with others from across our Grace Connection family.

Guest Speaker
We're delighted to have Sam Ward coming as a guest speaker for the day. Sam is the CEO for The Message Trust here in the UK and has a particular passion for urban mission. He'll be speaking in our main sessions.

Tickets
Tickets for the day cost £10 for a Standard Ticket, or £5 for a Server Ticket. Book your place below.

Lunch
Lunch is included with your ticket price and refreshments will be provided through the day.

Serving
Equip Conference wouldn't run without volunteers making it happen. If you'd like to serve for a 30 minute slot during the day, just choose a server ticket and pay half the price of a standard ticket. Note: serving won't interfere with travel if you're coming from another city.

Travel
There isn't any parking available at Grace Church but there are lots of parking options nearby. Grace Church is also just a 5 minute walk from Nottingham's train and tram stations.

Prayer & Fasting
Once a term we set aside three days as a church to pray and fast together. Prayer & Fasting, which runs from Tuesday to Thursday, has been at the heart of our journey as a church over many years and it’s from some of these times that we’ve heard God speak most clearly about our future as a church. We pray because we know the power it holds and we fast because time and time again in the Bible we see God move as His people fasted.

We run prayer meetings every evening on these days at 8pm at the church building.

We’d love you to consider fasting for all or some of these three days. Fasting is deliberately abstaining from the normal routines of life in a way that causes us to depend on God. For some helpful tips on fasting and why we do it please visit graceconnection.co.uk/fasting.

Something special happens when the church gather to pray so we’d love you to be part of it.

Join us on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 8pm.

Let's Go: Delegate Days
We'd love as many people as possible to be involved on the Thursday and Friday of our Let's Go Love Nottingham week. You might already have those days free, or perhaps you could consider taking some time off work or taking a charity day if your workplace offers that.

There are a range of activities and events that everyone can get involved in (see list below), which we will organise groups for on each day closer to the time.

There's a small cost of £10, which will pay for your team t-shirt, refreshments and training. If that cost is tricky for you for whatever reason, please get in touch with us because we'd still love to get you involved!

If you can give some time over the two days, you can sign up below.

Let's Go Love Nottingham
This summer we're excited to be bringing back our bi-annual mission week, called 'Let's Go Love Nottingham'.

We ran this for the first time in 2023, holding events designed to bless our city and our local community, and we're going to be doing the same thing again this year, from 12th-15th June.

You can find out more about our vision behind this week, all the various events and activities we'll be running over those few days and how to get involved here, but at the heart of this week is the great commission and the famous command to 'go'. So that's exactly what we're doing - we'll be going out into the city and The Meadows to show people the love of God by serving their communities and having loads of fun in the process.

It promises to be an incredible week, something for us all to be involved in, so mark those dates in your diary – 12th-15th June – and be part of it!

Nations Sunday
This week, join us at either of our two Sunday morning services - at 9.15am and 11.15am - for a special Sunday celebrating the diversity within our church family and hear voices from lots of different nations.

We'd love you to be part of this, so if you'd like to come and bring some food for us to share from your home country, fill out this form and we'll send you more details.

We'll still worship together and hear a talk from the Bible and will be running our usual children's programmes at both meetings.

If you're not able to make it in person, you can also tune in online

We meet in the city centre so we're only a few minutes' walk away from train, bus and tram stations. Parking is available either in the Bluecoat College car park located on Castle Road or in the Irish Centre pub car park on Wilford Street, and we're close to plenty of other on-street parking places too.

Please note there won't be an evening meeting this week.
