Prayer is at the heart of our walk with God. Jesus taught it, the Early Church relied on it and for centuries, Christians have found peace through it. God wants us to talk, cry, discuss and wrestle with Him through prayer. What’s incredible is that he promises that He will move in the hearts and lives of people as we pray.
There is benefit both to learning to pray alone and to praying with other Christians. The links below will help you to grow in this fundamental principle of the Christian faith and to go deeper with God.
Month of Prayer 2023
Every year we set aside January as a Month of Prayer. As part of the month we create a daily prayer plan for everyone to journey through, as well as prayer gatherings for the whole church and other prayer events. The whole idea is that we start the year off by seeking God together and all take the next step in our prayer journey. To read this year's booklet, including the daily prayer plan, click here.
Morning Prayer
Every week we gather to worship and pray together as a church family, asking God to bless our church and our city. This happens on Tuesday mornings at 7am at our church building. We'd love you to come and be part of them!
Week of Prayer
As well as our big Month of Prayer in January, twice a year we set aside a week to worship, pray and fast together as a church - we call it Deeper. These weeks always play a huge part in the heartbeat of our church; they shape us and they refresh us. As part of the week we produce resources to help you pray. Here’s the booklet we produced for our last Deeper week to give you a feel for what they're like: click here.
Women’s Prayer Pods
If you’re a woman and would like to pray with a handful of others, prayer pods are a great way to support one another and learn to pray from other women in the church. If you’re interested in becoming part of a prayer pod, please email the office on hello@gracechurchnottingham.org.
Prayer for the Nations
We believe the worldwide church is one big family which is why we gather once a month to pray for Christians around the world. At these gatherings we make it a priority to particularly pray for the persecuted church. To see when the next Prayer for the Nations meeting is, head to our events page.
