Easter

Easter is the biggest event in the Christian calendar and we can’t wait to share it together this year. Here's everything that's happening at Grace Church this Easter.

☀ Easter Sunday

On Sunday 31st March we'll be celebrating Easter Sunday at Grace Church. Our Easter celebrations are at 9:15am and 11:15am (we're not running our usual 7pm service on this Sunday). The services will last just over an hour each, with some worship with our live band and a chance to hear real life stories of people whose lives have been transformed by Jesus. For the kids we run Easter-themed parties in our various kids' groups for ages 0-11 where they'll play games, make crafts and generally have loads of fun.

Parking

Free parking is available at the Bluecoat College car park which is located on Castle Road which is just up the hill opposite our church building. This car park opens at 9:40am and will be locked at 1:15pm. You can also park at the Irish Centre pub car park located on Wilford Street (this is just behind our church building). See a map of these options here.

✞ Good Friday Service

On Friday 29th March we'll host our Good Friday service which has become a powerful, moving evening over the last few years where we spend time remembering and celebrating the finished work of the cross. We centre everything around a large, wooden cross in the middle of the room and focus our worship and attention on the events of that infamous day. Throughout the evening we'll hear readings from the Bible retelling the passion story and take communion together. It starts at 8pm (doors open at 7:45pm). Watch the promo video below to get an idea of what to expect.

✩ Good Friday for Families

From 10am-11am on the morning of Good Friday we're hosting an interactive space at our church building for families and kids to come and explore the story of Easter in a really fun, accessible way. Come for the hour and enjoy time with your kids around a variety of stations and activities where you can learn together about the cross and the resurrection. It'll be suitable for children in primary school.

Passion Week Devotionals

A couple of years ago year we shared a series of devotional podcasts for Passion Week. Each episode explores a location that Jesus visited in the lead up to His death. You can catch up and find those episodes below. You can find them on our media page or find the first episode below and listen from there.
