Let's Go

The church is meant to be good news for the city and we won’t ever see that come to life if we just stay within our four walls. That’s why in 2023 we’re launching Let’s Go Love Nottingham, a mission week running from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th June, designed to be a blessing to our city and local community. We’d love everyone to get involved! To find out more about the vision behind Let’s Go Love Nottingham watch the video below.

We'd love as many people as possible to be involved during the week on the Thursday and Friday. You might already have those days free, or perhaps you could consider taking some time off work or taking a charity day if your workplace offers that. There’s a small cost of £10, which will pay for your team t-shirt, refreshments and training. If that cost is tricky for you for whatever reason, please get in touch with us because we’d still love to get you involved!

If you're not able to get involved on the Thursday or Friday, you can use the general sign up which will include the Fun Day on the Saturday as well as opportunities to help practically in the lead up to the week.

So, if you can do Thursday and Friday use the 'Delegate Sign Up'. If you want to sign up for the Saturday or lead up use 'General Sign Up'.

What is it?

At its heart, Let’s Go Love Nottingham is what you might call a mission week, where we - the church - venture beyond our building and share the love of God with those around us. Throughout these days in June we want to show the kindness and goodness of God by blessing our local communities in practical ways. As we do, we believe we’ll see God do amazing things in the people we meet and in the nearby neighbourhoods.

The week will include things like local gardening, working with the council looking after some parks, evangelism, worship on the streets and more. On the Saturday we’ll be hosting a big Fun Day in The Meadows and the whole week will culminate with the Sunday where we’ll be having baptisms at church and inviting people we’ve met to come and hear the gospel.

When is it?

Let’s Go Love Nottingham will take place from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th June (this is the first week after exams for universities).

We’ll be hosting a whole church prayer meeting on the Wednesday night on the 7th at 8pm. Then the Thursday and Friday days will look something like this:

9:00 - Worship, training & prayer
11:315 - Outreach
13:00 - Lunch
14:00 - Outreach (including a mid-afternoon break)
16:30 - Team time (Prayer and testimonies)
17:00 - Finish

Saturday 10th June will be when we host the Fun Day in The Meadows, but we’ll also continue to bless the local community in a way that’s suitable for families and those who haven’t been able to join in earlier in the week. Finally, on Sunday 10th June we’ll gather for church at our normal service times: 10am, 4pm and 7:30pm.

Who is it for?

Absolutely everyone! We’re deliberately planning the week so that it’s accessible with something for everyone to get involved in; whether you’re a family with kids or on your own, confident and outgoing or more quiet and new to this sort of thing, young or old and everything in between – there’s a place for you!

What might I be doing?

You’ll be able to take part in a variety of activities of your choosing and we think there’s something for everyone!

Thursday/Friday

Delegates on the Thursday and Friday will receive some quality training for outreach. This will be hosted by a team who work with churches across the country helping people to make disciples. Our staff team recently did some training with them and it was excellent. We want every delegate to feel equipped not just for these days but for sharing their faith in the future too! You will also be in a team focussing on one area of outreach. This might be worship on the streets, practical jobs like gardening, afterschool outreach, afternoon tea with supported living – these are just examples and you’ll be able to pick your top choices when you sign up (sign up at the top of this page).

Saturday

We'll be running many of the same activities on the Saturday morning but we'll also be renovating a park and all of the activities will be family-friendly. We'll also be running a big Fun Day so you can sign up for a slot there to help out with things like manning a bouncy castle, helping to serve food, or even singing in a choir - come and enjoy it with all the family.

Sign up & Cost

To be part of the Thursday and Friday there’s a small cost of £10, which will pay for your team t-shirt, refreshments and training. If that cost is tricky for you for whatever reason, please get in touch with us because we’d still love to get you involved! Sign up for the Saturday including the Fun Day is free. We’re so excited for this week and can’t wait to see what God does as we take a bold step together. In fact, we feel like this could be a significant moment in our story as a church and we’d love you to be part of that story. So let’s all get involved, let’s go love Nottingham!
